Peaks of Otter Lodge- Bedford, Virginia

Nestled between two of the three mountains that make up the Peaks of Otter, the Peaks of Otter Lodge and Restaurant, near Bedford, Virginia, is the flagship of a chain of visitor concessions strung along the Virginia portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway Parkway.

The Lodge overlooks beautiful Abbott Lake. Facilities include 63 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, and the Sharp Top Lounge, an intimate cocktail lounge. Escape the everyday and enjoy a calm serenity created by the unapologetic absence of phones or televisions in the rooms.

There are many different Peaks of Otter trails that range from easy (the one-mile loop around picturesque Abbott Lake) to strenuous (the one and one-half miles trek to the summit of Sharp Top). Abbott Lake contains catfish, small-mouth bass, golden shiners, sunfish, and blue gill. Fishing licenses are available at the Lodge, completing this as a complete retreat and relaxation center in Southern Virginia.
